Plastoplan
: Over 50 Years of Expertise in the Plastics Trade
The foundation for Plastoplan was laid in Vienna in 1971, when Hans Wolfgang Hromatka founded a market research company. Just one year later, a groundbreaking opportunity arose: The American corporation General Electric Plastics placed a newspaper ad seeking a distribution partner to launch the engineering plasticsNORYL™(PPE granules) andLEXAN™(PC granules) in Austria.
Mr. Hromatka applied—and won the contract. This marked the beginning of the success story of Plastoplan, a plastics trading company that has been in business for over five decades.
From the very beginning, the focus has been on meeting our customers' needs. We have continuously expanded our warehouse logistics, technical consulting, and application support services, as well as our product portfolio of high-quality plastics.
In 1991, Mr. Hromatka began expanding into what was then Czechoslovakia. This was followed in 1993 by the acquisition of the Swiss company Lenorplastics, a significant step in the development of what is now the Hromatka Group. Since 2005, the Group has also included its own compounding company, SAX Polymers, which complements its product range with customized plastic solutions.
Today, the family-owned Hromatka Group operates in 19 European countries with over 40 warehouses and, since 2025, has expanded beyond Europe for the first time with a branch in Morocco. Each subsidiary operates independently, staying close to the market and the specific needs of its customers.
For over 50 years, Plastoplan Kunststoffe has stood for reliability, technical expertise, and collaborative partnerships—and is now even stronger for the future thanks to the Hromatka Group’s international network.
