Plastoplan is expanding its product portfolio and is now offering DuraSense®, an innovative composite material made from FSC-certified wood fibers from Nordic spruce and modern polymers. The material combines the natural look and feel of wood with the technical properties of high-quality plastics, creating a sustainable alternative to fossil-based materials.
Depending on the type, DuraSense® consists of 20 to 55% wood fibers as well as bio-based, recycled, or conventional polymers (PP or PE).
This makes it possible to replace fossil-based plastics and significantly reduce CO₂ emissions.
Versatile
DuraSense® has already proven itself in numerous applications:
- Seat shells for designer armchairs
- Water Dispenser
- Safety Helmets
- Toy building blocks
- Cutlery and Tableware
- Packaging for the Food and Pharmaceutical Industries
- Automotive Interior Parts
- Construction Products
- 3D Printing
The Right Material Grade for Every Application
DuraSense® is available in three product lines:
Pure – with a minimal amount of additives for particularly natural applications
Plus – with increased flexibility and improved impact resistance
Prime – High-performance material for demanding technical components
The material is available for injection molding, extrusion, and 3D printing. Depending on the product design, you can choose between a natural surface with visible wood fibers or a surface uniformly colored using a masterbatch.
