SABIC NORYL™ WM330G – Safety and long service life for components in contact with hot water and food

The requirements for all materials that come into contact with food are constantly increasing. In particular, demand for BPA- and BPS-free solutions is growing, driven both by regulatory requirements and greater consumer awareness. With Sabic’s Noryl™, Plastoplan Kunststoffe not only offers a diverse PPE product portfolio for modern product development, but also sets new standards for significantly longer service life of food-contact components with its glass-fiber-reinforced WM330G grade.

The next generation of high-performance plastics for coffee machines, vending machines, and kitchenware

Compared to earlier generations of the material, Noryl™ WM330G demonstrates significantly improved resistance to water hammer stresses, which frequently occur in pump and valve systems. In addition, the material offers impressive creep resistance at temperatures up to 90 °C, which is particularly advantageous for components subjected to continuous thermal stress. Even under continuous exposure to hot water, its mechanical performance is maintained over the long term.

WM330G is thus a strong addition to the EU 10/2011-compliant Noryl™ product portfolio, whose PPE grades combine high temperature and hydrolysis resistance with precisely tunable mechanical properties. This makes the material the ideal choice for high-quality, impact-resistant, robust, fatigue-resistant, and dishwasher-safe components—anywhere reliability, temperature resistance, and food contact suitability are critical.

Typical applications

  • Coffee and beverage vending machines
  • Dishwashers and washing machines
  • Pump housings, valve blocks, flow meters
  • Boiler and brew group components in coffee machines
  • Filter elements and processing machines
  • Kitchen appliances and kitchen utensils
  • Tableware and catering equipment
