Having proven itself for years in demanding applications in the electrical and electronics industry is now conquering another important market: the railway industry.
The glass-fiber-reinforced, UL94V0 + 5VA-listed PA66 Saxamid™ 226F5RY01 has successfully met the requirements of the European railway vehicle fire safety standard EN 45545-2. Both the flame behavior and the smoke density and toxicity were tested, with convincing results:
Meets the requirements of classes R22, R23, and R24 in all colors for hazard levels HL1 through HL3
This provides designers with a high-performance material for a wide range of electrical applications in rail vehicles, such as connectors, terminals, relays, switches, cable ducts, and insulators.
This successful qualification once again underscores the versatility of Saxamid™ 226F5RY01 and opens up new possibilities for applications where safety, reliability, and fire protection are top priorities.
The compound from Austria is available from Plastoplan Kunststoffe and throughout the Hromatka Group.
